Prague Flashback

Moi: Sweater [Yessica].  Skirt [Socialite].  Earrings [Baublebar]. Sunnies [Wildfox].  Watch [Nixon].  Sneakers [Converse].  Handbag [Rebecca Minkoff].  // Polish Man: Jeans & Jacket [Calvin Klein]. Sneakers [Reebox].  Hat & Tee [Hurley].  Sunnies [Gucci].  Watch [Diesel].

Hi friends!  I'm feeling a bit nostalgic today as one year ago today, the Polish man popped the question & made it the best day ever!  Instead of re-telling the story, I wanted to share some photos & memories I have with you all.

For those of you who have been engaged, you remember the details like it was yesterday.  I was already having an amazing day because we were in our favorite city of Prague with our best friends along for the journey!  We began the day by walking with Sillis & Coco up the stairs to the beautiful Prague Castle.  We stopped for some yummy food & Pilsners at an open air market outside the gates.  I honestly feel every time we go to Prague, there is something new I see.  We turned a corner of the castle that we hadn't been before & there was a photo shoot for a bridal magazine going on.  (Coincidence?  I think not.)  Besides the architecture, the food & the Pilsners, I absolutely love the view when you look over the city from atop.  All of the red rooftops, color of turquoise & the way the clouds seem to always float above the city is breathtakingly beautiful.  We explored the castle & made our way back down the stairs to to cross Charles Bridge back to our apartment.  The rest, is history!  Excuse my cheesiness, but that magical bridge will always hold a special place in my heart.  If you're feeling like a bit more romance, you can read the full proposal story here.  Just scrolling through all of these photos is giving me an ear to ear smile for our upcoming trip!

BEST.DAY.EVER.

Monday, November 30, 2015

Hello friends!  As I have been away from my blog for months, for those of you who don't already know, I came back from our annual trip to Europe an engaged lady! Yayayayyaaaa!  And while normally, I would begin my tales of our travels from the beginning, in the spirit of the holiday season, I'm feeling the love & skipping ahead to the best day of the trip!
I've said it before, but I absolutely love Prague.  I have been there four times (who's counting?)

Bye Bye Prague!

Shirt [F21].  Leggings [Trouvé].  Sneakers [Zara].  Crossbody [R.M.].  Sunnies [].  Headband [Cara].

So, it comes to an end.  After leaving Zakopane, we headed back to Poland where we scooped up a few good friends & jumped back in the VW.  For our last stop, we went back to Prague.  Yes, we had already been there.  But, Prague is one of, maybe my most, favorite place I've ever been blessed to visit.  Why you ask?  Just look around at its beauty.  Prague was not harmed during World War II, & thus, retained majority of its architecture.  Everywhere you look-there is an amazing building.  You literally cannot take your eyes off of the magnificence of this city.
We stayed there for a few more days walking the streets with our friends, dining, now & then stopping for a few Pilsner Urquells.  And, we walked the Charles Bridge.  Again & again.  But, something we had never done was see the view from above.  So on our last day, we decided to climb up the hundreds of stairs to the Bridge Tower & take a look.  What we saw was magnificent!  From the four views of this old Gothic structure that had guarded this city so well for thousands of years, we saw every corner of Praha.  The Polish man is a bit skiddish of heights, but he suffered through & loved every minute of it.
We had done it!  Three weeks of me in the passenger seat while the Polish man drove us from country to country.  Leaving a vacation is always bittersweet.  You get tired of sleeping in the hotels & living out of a suitcase, but I had become accustomed to it.  So accustomed to it, that leaving it all behind truly made me sad.  There is so much to experience in life & I am so happy that I was able to add a few more of those experiences & places to my memories.  But, my journey isn't over.  I'm sure I'll end up somewhere else very soon.  For now, its back to my everyday experiences on the island!  See ya there.
