Hello friends & TGIF! I can only hope that the week has gone by well for you all. Spring is definitely in full effect here in South Florida! That equals huge business for Spring Break due to the fantastic weather! I mean with clear sunny skies, sandy beaches, warm water & breezy nights...what more could you ask for? Pure perfection. I am definitely guilty for taking the past few days off blogging to hit the beach & go kayaking instead. (I mean, you can't really blame me!) Anyways, I promise not to stray any longer...I'll just have to drag the ole Apple down to the beach with me from now on!
I am a HUGE fan of Marc Jacobs. I think that his quirky fun designs are always pushing the limits of fashion. From bright printed clothes to accessories, down to his funky ad campaigns, his style is evident. A great example? Miss Marc. Miss Marc is a cartoon muse created by Marc Jacobs. She is featured on anything from tees to handbags to tech accessories on two of his lines: Little Marc Jacobs for the wee ones & Marc by Marc Jacobs . Created by English artist William Broome in 2003, she is now featured every season, always changing her look but still always quirky & fun, a direct representation of the Marc by Marc Jacobs line, as well as Broome. Broome states that "The design evolved. When I first drew her she looked strung out, like she had just landed from a 12-hour flight. There are lots of cutesy characters but we wanted her to be cooler than that" (Rahman). And, she is. She is way way cooler than any other cartoon character on the block. Miss Marc is described as a mirror image of the artist himself: "a bundle of contradictions...playful but with dark undertones" (Rahman). I personally, am totally in love with her.
